Liz attended Bassaleg Grammar School and graduated with a degree in Zoology, specialising in Physiology and Immunology, from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. As a very keen games player, she went on to study Physical Education and began her teaching career as Head of PE and Girls’ Games and Assistant Housemistress at an independent boarding school in Kent. She moved to Wycliffe College in 1994 when her husband was appointed as Housemaster of Ward’s, Director of Sport, and Head of Physical Education.
She held posts of Head of Girls’ Games and Head of PSHE prior to her appointment as Housemistress of Loosley Halls. She was later appointed Deputy Head Pastoral, a post she held for 12 years before retiring in 2019. During her career, she acted as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for over 20 years and represented English independent schools on the Boarding Schools’ Association Safeguarding Board for a number of years. She was invited to Number 10 by Tony Blair, together with a range of multi-agency staff working in safeguarding. During her career, she was also an Examiner for Physical Education and holds a counselling qualification.
Since retiring she continues to Tutor for the Boarding Schools’ Association on both their Pastoral and Management courses and is a Trustee at a single academy trust school in Gloucester, where she is the Safeguarding Trustee, in addition to sitting on the People and Resources and Learning and Teaching committees. She lives in Stonehouse with her husband Gerard. She has a son, Steven, who following 15 years as a pupil at Wycliffe Prep and Senior Schools, graduated with a degree in Philosophy at Nottingham and went on to pursue an MA and PhD in Journalism at Cardiff, and now lectures at London’s City University.
She is an enthusiastic tennis player and enjoys all sports, attending ballet classes, walking, gardening, and is a keen traveller.
Richard (OW 1977-1989) spent his childhood in Gloucestershire and started his Wycliffe education in Lower Prep.
Caroline graduated from Aberdeen University with an MA in Geography with Economics.
Lynn is a retired Prep School Headteacher. She graduated from the University of London with a degree in Biological Sciences and a PGCE in Science Education.
Lewis Faulkner studied Biological Sciences at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford before completing his PGCE at New College, Oxford.
Jody has spent in excess of 20 years defining and delivering technology strategy, across numerous people focused service businesses, both across the UK and internationally.
Will was educated at Charterhouse, studied Agricultural Sciences at Newcastle University and served in the British Army.
Lucy was educated at Charlton Park, Cheltenham and went to Wycliffe for 6th form.
Alison (OW, 1994-2011) attended Wycliffe from Nursery through to Sixth Form and went on to study English Literature and Drama at University in Cardiff.
Simon, an OW, studied Estate Management at Reading University following which he joined a surveying practice in Birmingham.
John is a campaigner, storyteller, teacher, youth worker, independent diplomat, writer and broadcaster who has spent his career working with and for young people in the UK and around the world.
Yemi worked in the Oral and maxillofacial hospital departments around the UK before he settled in Gloucestershire, where he set up and managed dental practices. His two children are currently both in the Senior School.
John was educated at Dulwich College and completed a History Degree at Pembroke College, Cambridge and then a PGCE at the Institute of Education, Cambridge University
James has enjoyed a career as a Chartered Building Surveyor working on the design, repair and maintenance of many different types of property with a particular emphasis on School facilities and Historic Buildings.
