Numeracy and Literacy are the key to unlocking a child’s education and they are a main part of the curriculum at Pre-Prep. Equally as important though is the introduction and development of other subjects to deliver a full, rounded education for our 4 to 7 year olds.
Weekly timetabled lessons:
A variety of specialist lessons are taught in the Pre-Prep department, providing our youngest children with expert instruction in subjects such as music, art, languages, swimming and physical education. Our aim is to foster early skill development and enthusiasm in each of our pupils. This focused approach not only enhances their learning experience but also broadens their exposure to different areas of interest, helping to build confidence, creativity and a deeper understanding from an early age.
Outdoor learning and Forest School play a key role in our Pre-Prep department, offering children opportunities to explore, discover and learn through hands-on experiences in nature. These sessions help develop important skills such as resilience, teamwork and problem-solving while promoting physical and emotional well-being. By connecting with the natural environment, our children build confidence, independence and a deeper appreciation of the world around them. Whatever the weather, Wycliffe’s youngest pupils can be found exploring our amazing school grounds, drawing inspiration from nature when learning across the curriculum.
