Wycliffe Middle Prep: Years 3 to 5 (age 7 to 10)

Bees and Lavender

We nurture independence and establish educational foundations during these key years.
We believe children need space to grow and be known as individuals. With our beautiful grounds and small class sizes (average of 18 per class), pupils thrive with the extensive individual attention they receive and the opportunity to explore their own interests and capabilities.

A Typical School Day

Registration starts at 8.15am. Lunch is an hour long, and year groups have lunch at staggered sittings, starting from 12.15pm. In three out of five afternoons during the week, pupils take part in a physical activity as part of our Games programme, which includes competitive fixtures, PE and swimming lessons. The day ends at 4.30pm, although many pupils stay for supervised homework sessions until 5.30pm.

In Years 3, 4 and 5, English and Maths are taught every day and are a key focus throughout the three years. Computing, Modern Foreign Languages, Humanities, Science, Music, Art and Drama are taught weekly, and Games or PE is timetabled every day, except for Thursday when a separate activities programme takes place.
