Meet Hannah, who joined Wycliffe College in the Reception class.
Hannah’s mum attended Wycliffe for her Sixth Form studies, so was already aware of the School.
Hannah studied A Level Psychology, Geography and Religious Studies. Hannah explained that before her GCSEs, the School put on an A Level Fair with all the subject teachers and some pupils to talk through the courses and answer any questions pupils had. This was very helpful to her, as it gave a great insight into each subject. Also, every single member of the Sixth Form had a discussion with the Careers Adviser to talk through possible careers/pathways for after School.
We asked Hannah what advice she would give to other pupils, and she said…
“Do what you are interested in, but also make the most of all the opportunities and get involved in as many events as you can!”
During her time at Wycliffe, Hannah feels that going to Iceland in Year 10 was one of the highlights of her Wycliffe career. She said they were so lucky to do some amazing things – hiking on a glacier, walking behind waterfalls and so much more! She adds, Sports Day was also always a positive experience as “you can get involved in so much, including table tennis, badminton and rowing, as well as athletics in the afternoon.”
“My biggest achievement was definitely having the confidence to sing the ‘Once in Royal David City’ Solo in both Carol Services in Year 13.”
Since completing her A Levels in summer 2023, Hannah has progressed to study Social Policy at Bath University and eventually aims to have a career in trying to solve social injustices around the world and helping to support people who are less fortunate than herself.
Wycliffe seemed a better fit for the family than any other schools nearby. It was a good choice because it allowed my brothers and I to join at the same time, and we could all stay till Sixth Form.
