TWS Awards

Each year, The Wycliffian Society gives a variety of bursaries, with the aim of providing financial support to Old Wycliffians. Some of these are available to Year 13 pupils as they leave Wycliffe, while others can be applied for by those who have already left. The awards are designed to:

Be inclusive and representative of the pupils at Wycliffe College

Cover the breadth of options that school leavers pursue

Recognise the agile nature of modern working trends among our alumni

Listed below are the awards on offer, along with when and how to apply:
TWS Awards available to Year 13 Pupils:

Academic Endeavour (£2000) Will be awarded to a Year 13 leaver in financial need, who is planning on pursuing post-secondary school Higher Education. This award is open to those applying for apprenticeships.

Pioneering Spirit (£2000) Will be awarded to a Year 13 leaver who has considered, developed, and has the intention to undertake post-18 plans that demonstrate an “independence of thought and deed”.

Global Citizenship (£2000) Will be awarded to a Year 13 leaver who has considered, developed, and has the intention to undertake, post-18 plans that demonstrate a significant contribution to community service.

How to apply: all the information on how to apply for the above awards is provided to current Year 13 pupils at the start of the calendar year, as part of our wider presentation introducing them to The Wycliffian Society.

Don’t miss the opportunity of assistance towards your next step

All applications (for both groups of awards) are considered by a panel of TWS Committee members and applicants will be informed of the outcome of their decision at the earliest opportunity.

Applications and interviews are coordinated by TWS Office, on behalf of TWS Committee.

TWS Awards available to all Old Wycliffians:

Entrepreneurial Spirit (£2000) Awarded to an alumnus/alumna of Wycliffe College, who is developing a business idea and requires financial assistance to further develop it.

Continued Professional Development (£2000) Awarded to an alumna/alumnus in financial need, who has demonstrated a commitment to undertake a professional development course. This could include further study within Higher Education.

Applications for the OW TWS Awards 2024 are now closed. The application process for 2025 will open early in that year and announced on this webpage and our social media.
