Caroline graduated from Aberdeen University with an MA in Geography with Economics.

Caroline spent the first 15 years of her working life in retail management holding operational management roles to Operations Director level with Habitat Designs Ltd and Maples plc.

For 10 years Caroline worked for the Appointment Commission acting as an independent assessor on appointment panels for non-executive directors.  Caroline has spent the last 20 years working in the voluntary sector.  Until March 2012 Caroline worked for Common Purpose a leadership development organisation working across all sectors.  From March 2012 to October 2015 Caroline was CEO of Quartet Community Foundation (QCF) working in Bristol, Bath & NE Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.  QCF works to match donors with local charities and organisations supporting the causes they care about.  Since October 2015 Caroline took on the role of Treasurer of The Society of Merchant Venturers in Bristol.  The Society works across greater Bristol and is responsible for nine schools educating over 4,000 young people, supporting over 5,000 older people in care homes, Almshouses and care at home, distributing over £250k in small grants each year as well as supporting Social Investment.

 

Caroline is a Deputy Lieutenant for Gloucestershire, Trustee of SS Great Britain and Governor of Collegiate School and Venturers Trust in Bristol.  Both her children attended Wycliffe Prep School and her son attended the Senior School until he completed his GCSEs.
